Okay, I have to say this is a really good Arcanine picture. As a loyal supporter of the original canine Pokemon, I feel happy to see this. I love how Arcanine is laying in front of the fireplace also showing that Arcanine being a fire-type Pokemon as well as showing Mew sleeping peacefully on the mantle of the fireplace. I also love how this Arcanine is waiting for its owner to come home so both can rest in front of the fire as it most likely snowing and/or freezing cold out. As I stated earlier, I love Arcanine as well as the original 151 Pokemon before it got crazy with now getting close to 700 out there. This just wants me to cuddle up with that Arcanine and sleep through the night while it snows like mad outside.
Overall, the picture fulfills its purpose: The warm and peaceful atmosphere. However, there are some parts which could use a bit of improvement.
Arcanine looks quite rested on the floor, which helps add to the atmosphere. However, the fur feels a bit too solid. The shading could be a bit smoother, and a bit of furry texture wouldn't hurt.
The fireplace is a good choice for the centerpiece, but it feels very flat. There needs to be a dimensional feel in the fireplace. This could be done by defining the walls of the fireplace, and also putting more than one log there. Logs could stack on top of each other, and be tilted at different angles. The glowing embers are a nice touch though, and helps it look nice. The texture of the log is good too.
I love the mantle piece, with mew sleeping peacefully up there. Arcanine's eyes are very nice too, looking very detailed in the darkness.
I assume the picture has a meaning behind, with the title "Waiting", and Arcanine looking behind it. However, I don't exactly know the significance or meaning of it all, so that effect feels a bit wasted.
However, I'd say the picture is quite good. The technique and lighting are great. The orange-yellow color scheme also goes nicely with the rest of the picture, and there is a very nice contrast. Good job on this work of art
